Movie News Highlights!

Disney live Action version of Snow White could hit theaters by 2021!!


A new film of Pippi Longstocking is in the works with the Padding Crew on board.





R.J. Palacio's White Bird: A Wonder Story is Being adapted by Lionsgate.





Andre Ovredal will helm Last Voyage Of The Demeter. Bragi Schut (“Season of the Witch”) penned the original script which is inspired by a section of Bram Stoker’s novel “Dracula” in which a cargo ship named the Demeter transports Dracula’s coffin from Transylvania to London.
The vampire picks off the crew one-by-one along the way until the ship washes up ashore in England with one raving-mad survivor. This will center its story around that journey.





Eli Roth to produce horror film 10-31 for Orion Pictures. The story follows a young woman who takes her niece and nephew trick-or-treating and discovers a note inside a candy wrapper that says there’s a killer loose on her block. 





Guy Ritchie in talks for Vigilance - The story follows an American woman that begins working with a London armored car company. However, things begin to change when she finds herself in the midst of a crew that is planning a heist.





Eddie Murphy is back on planning Beverly Hills Cop 4!










Dean DeBlois to direct a new Treasure Island Film for Universal

Disney is also planning a new live-Action film for Inspector Gadget.






Andy Buckey and Mira Sorvino to star in Most guys are Losers adaptation.
The plot takes place over Thanksgiving weekend in Chicago when a college kid from California seeks approval from his girlfriend’s dad, a bar owner and author of a dating book titled, “Most Guys are Losers.” 






Alice Eve to star in 12 Mighty Orphans. The pic centers on an orphanage where Coach Rusty Russell (played by Wilson) turns a scrawny band of underdogs into fierce warriors that leave their opponents bewildered and battered. These youngsters, in spite of being outweighed by at least thirty pounds per man, are the toughest football team around. They begin with nothing―not even a football―yet Rusty’s innovative offense helps lead the orphans to the state playoffs. At a time when America desperately needs fresh hope and big dreams, the Orphans prove that heart can triumph over the greatest of obstacles.





Screen Gems has set up an Untitled film based on the Mythology of Santa Muerte. The hope is to hatch a franchise for the Latin and global genre market. Nuestra SeƱora de la Santa Muerte, often shortened to Santa Muerte and Spanish for Our Lady of Holy Death, is an idol in Mexican and Mexican-American folklore. A personification of death, she is associated with healing, protection and safe delivery to the afterlife by her devotees.


Sony Pictures making Este Dia (This Day) comedy film. Which is a multi-generational bilingual comedy about the magic that happens over the course of a single day in New York, when lives and loves intersect in unexpected and meaningful ways, and people realize that there is more that unites us than divides us, on this day and every day. Sony is actively casting the film.





Derek Kolstad to Direct A Darker Shade of Magic for Sony. The book is set in four parallel worlds, with four parallel Londons ruled by different magical powers and monarchies. There’s Grey London, where the people have been told that magic is a myth; Red London, where magic is embraced and thrives; White London, where magic is used by the rulers against it’s people; and Black London, where magic has overpowered the people and corrupted the world beyond repair.
