Movie News Highlights!

Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie teaming up on a new action thriller film. The studio has acquired remake rights to the original 2004 French film “Le Convoyeur” from StudioCanal which is expected to serve as the basis for the new film.
The story follows H, a cold and mysterious character working at a cash truck company responsible for moving hundreds of millions of dollars around Los Angeles each week.
The story weaves through “a suspenseful and carefully constructed narrative, the film shifts across timelines and between various characters’ perspectives for a thrilling and mind-bending experience.”




Len Wiseman to direct the John Wick spinoff Ballerina. The film focuses on a young female assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family. You can see her in John Wick 3 but she has a very small part. 






Felicity Jones and Shailene Woodley to star in The Last Letter From Your Lover. The story is based on Jojo Moyes’ novel which is set between London and the Riviera and follows Ellie (Jones), a young journalist in contemporary London who uncovers a series of love letters that tell the story of an intensely romantic but star-crossed affair in the 1960s between Jennifer Stirling (Woodley) and Anthony O’Hare (Turner).

As Ellie is drawn into the story, she becomes obsessed with discovering the lovers’ identities and finding out how their love story ends.










Russell Crowe boards supernatural thriller. Crowe will play a troubled actor who slowly unravels while filming a horror film, his actions leading his estranged daughter to wonder whether he is relapsing back into past addictions or dealing with something far more sinister.








Gal Gadot to star in holocaust drama Irena Sendler. The harrowing story follows a woman’s defiant stand against Polish Nazi occupation and the network she developed to care for and save 2500 Jewish children from the Warsaw ghetto. Following her arrest by the Gestapo, the story becomes a race against time to save not only herself but the identities of the hidden thousands who’ll face certain execution. 









Jessica Rothe to star in All My Life. The fact-based story of Jenn Carter and her husband Solomon Chau, a couple who plan a wedding in the wake of devastating news.







Albert Hughes to direct North Hollywood. The story deals with a deadly February 1997 North Hollywood shootout where the LAPD and a pair of bank robbers with a military-grade arsenal engaged in a morning gun battle on the San Fernando Valley streets. It is considered the largest shootout in the history of U.S. law enforcement!




Francis Ford Coppola to direct Megaloplois. The story is set in New York and follows an architect’s attempt to create a utopia in the city, combated by the mayor.





Pierre Morel to direct action thriller The Blacksmith. The story follows Wes Loomis, a ‘blacksmith’ which is the intelligence community’s name for a go-to weapons expert. When his clandestine lab is destroyed and colleagues murdered, he must go on the run with only his unique set of technological skills to keep him alive.




Scott Stewart to direct A Certain Slant Of Light from Novel.  Story follows Helen, the ghost of a young woman who, for a 150 years, has existed as an invisible presence clinging to an ever growing chain of living hosts. Now, while haunting a contemporary high school English teacher, she makes the shocking discovery that a troubled student is able to see her for the first time since her death. What follows is a mysterious love story about second chance.








Daniel Robbins to Direct horror film Most Evil. The story follows a group of twentysomethings who take a business tycoon’s daughter hostage in a failed robbery attempt and realize they’re in over their heads when the girl turns out to not be as innocent as she appears.





Lady Gaga could star in the new remake of Little Shop of Horrors Musical film!




Ashleigh Powell directing The Grace Year From novel. It examines the complex and sometimes twisted relationships between girls, the women they eventually become, and the difficult decisions they make in between. 





Universals developing Erotic Romance Deeper but specific details about the story are being kept under wraps.





Newline is making an Untitled Spec competitively, The logline is being kept under wraps but we hear it’s a mind-bending genre tale that centers around an Asian-American protagonist.



Bailee Madison to star in A Week Away, The pic follows Will Hawkins (Quinn), a troubled teenager whose recent run-in with the law puts him at an important crossroads; go to juvenile hall or attend a Christian summer camp. At first a fish-out-of-water, Will eventually opens his heart and discovers a love and sense of belonging in the last place he expected to find it.





Reboot Camp comedy film, the comedy follows brothers who create Reboot Camp, a fake self-help group, and its leader “Gordon St. Pierre,” to expose the exploitive practices of fake gurus and how easy it is to con people into believing just about anything. To their surprise, their absurd Reboot Camp becomes a big success with a devoted following.



Glen Powell to star in Devotion Korean war film, about the true story at the center of Adam Makos’ 2015 book about two Korean War Navy pilots — one from an affluent white New England family, the other the black son of a Mississippi sharecropper — who became two of the top pilots in U.S. history.





Isabelle Fuhrman to star in The Novice. The film tells the story of a college freshman who joins her university’s cutthroat rowing team and undertakes an obsessive journey to make the top varsity boat.
